Help with Planning your Fundraising

How do I start?

Decide what you want to do. If you want to have fun and raise money, then make sure that you pick something that you will enjoy.

Fundraising can be hard work but it should give you and your helpers some pleasure too.

Get some help from friends

It'll probably be easier and more enjoyable to do it with other people - but pick your helpers carefully. You want people who are reliable and prompt as well as creative, hardworking and enthusiastic, and you want people with whom you get on well.

Make a plan

You will need at least a list of things that need to be done and a timetable for doing them. For example, if you want to do a Summer Ball next summer, make sure that you have the time, the people and the resources that you need.

Hold a meeting beforehand

This is allways a good idea if there are a few people helping and if your event is big. This will enable you and your helpers to plan, everyone will know who will be responsible for what and if you have everything covered. Everyone should end up with a written record of what they need to do and by when.
